Statistically so, say the marketing bods behind the pertinently named British Tomato Week (which runs from 20th-26th May).

We’ve been promised that spring is just around the corner, and while the weather may not be showing any signs of warming up just yet (we’ve just heard it’ll be dropping down to zero again today, and don’t get me started on the idea of a white Easter…) here in the zero2one office we’re optimistic things will pick up soon.

Trust me, as soon as the sun tries to peek it’s head through we’ll be heading out to the park next door, determined to enjoy our lunch alfresco.

So, in anticipation of this joyful moment, we’ve rounded up our favourite outdoor living pieces below; wouldn’t indulging in a spot of lunch at that sundrenched table be simply blissful?

The secret life of the aubergine

Prepare yourself, for there is an interesting foodie fact coming up: that moussaka or ratatouille you enjoyed last night, it would have been nothing if it weren’t for the primary ingredient, a big juicy berry.

The humble Asparagus is a true British Hero

It’s good to eat in season, so we’re told. This in mind (and as the ethical, green types we are here at zero2one) I thought it fitting for us to share with you a delicious idea to celebrate the upcoming British Asparagus season.

As the the season starts in May and runs through to June the countdown is offically on.

British Asparagus and Crab Tart

Cooking time: 80 minutes
Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 6 to 8

You will need 25cm loose bottom tart case

You’ll need:

1 packet short crust pastry
1 egg, beaten for brushing the case
2 bundles of British asparagus
50g butter
1 small onion very finely chopped
1 ½ tsp tomato puree
1 generous tsp Dijon mustard
300g soft fresh brown crab meat
300ml single cream
2 medium eggs
A heavy grind of black pepper & salt to taste

Getting in to the Spirit

London dwellers may be a aware of a certain homes & interiors show that’s currently taking place at the Olympia. Abandoning his usual spot a Borough market for a few days, British artist (and long-standing zero2one client) Richard Bramble has set up shop at the  House & Garden ‘Spirit of Christmas’ Fair.

Wine and Cheese Wednesday!

In honour of the Autumn Cheese and Wine Festival at Southbank this weekend, the zero2one team thought it was high time to let our hair down and treat ourselves to a glass of vino accompanied by a mouth-watering selection of fine cheese.

Okay, there may have been more wine than cheese consumed at least we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

New Clients at zero2one PR

Wow where did January go! Can you believe we are already the 7th of February? The New Year started with a bang here at zero2one PR as we got back into the swing of things with writing press releases, promoting new product launches, attending a press event and a couple of visits to a few of our journalist friends.

We’ve also had a very successful start to the year here with the addition of some lovely new clients.
